The Gospel: God's Plan for My Life

The Word "gospel" means "good news". It's the message about Christ, the Kingdom of God, and Salvation! At LifePoint Church we believe that God created all things (Creation: Gen. 1-2). Because of the sin that Adam and Eve committed (The Fall: Gen. 3), we are all born sinners, seperated from God and deserve punishment. However, through his grace, God sent his son Jesus to die on our behalf (Redemption: Gal. 4:4). Jesus lived a perfect life, obeyed the Father in all he did, even to the point of death on a cross. Jesus paid the price, a cost we could not pay, and through his ressurection conquered sin and death. Now, through the work of the Holy Spirit, God reveals himself to us, changes our heart, and calls us to a life of holiness (Rom. 8:1-11). Things don't end there, God has promised to one day restore all things as they were before sin entered the world. Heaven will come down to earth, and there will no longer be pain or suffering, sin nor death (Consummation: Isa. 65:17).

We call this the gospel, God's story of redemption for humanity. Although it is as simple as Creation, Fall, Redemption, Consummation, I encourage you to open your bible and dive deep into God's Word.
